Pacific Crest enrolls in master class with
Dallas Brass

The Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps will matriculate into a master class with the Dallas Brass Friday, May 17 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in California. The two groups will perform together later that night.

"Having the opportunity to perform in a truly world class and professional hall with some the best brass musicians in the world is an experience we will never forget," said Stuart Pompel, Pacific Crest Director.

The six-member Dallas Brass, noted for its originality, style and impeccable musical artistry, will perform at Segerstrom Hall. Pacific Crest will join them for a rousing finale.

The Dallas Brass brings an exciting dimension to the traditional brass quintet by combining brass with drums and a wide range of percussion instruments. To the delight of audiences, the ensemble performs a surprising variety of musical styles, from classical to jazz, Broadway and patriotic music, and has expanded the boundaries of the traditional concert format with an engaging narration, staging and creative lighting.

Promoters said the show is similar to "BLAST!," the stage production put together by the Star of Indiana organization. Before "BLAST!," corps members from Star of Indiana toured with the Canadian Brass ensemble.

Pacific Crest is located in Southern California, one of the largest scholastic marching band regions in the world.

"We are excited to have another reputable company as a corporate partner," Pompel said.
