Mon Valley Express kicks off new senior season

On Saturday, November 27, the Mon Valley Express senior corps held its open house for thes 2005 indoor and outdoor seasons.

With new three-valve horns replacing most of the old two-valves, the corps endeavors to provide quality equipment and instruction for its members. With many returning members (98%) from last season, as well as a very successful recruiting period, membership goals are very close to fruition. MVE is ready for a great first rehearsal.

The show show will feature the music of John Tesh. The musical selections will be Day One, Barcelona, April’s Song and closing with PS491. The Indoor Impact Ensemble (TOB Mini Corps/BLAST!) show will be Barcelona and PS491.

The Mon Valley Brass staff is made up of Tiffany Shoaf and Steve Wilson. The caption head and arranger is Erick Gallagher.   Percussion staff is Jermaine Archibald and Blake Haskins. The caption head and arranger is Jared Thompson. Pit percussion caption head is Emily Flowers. All brass charts and the percussion charts are complete.

The marching/drill design team will be Erick Gallagher, Loujaue McPherson and Dale Fine.

With a season off, Mon Valley is bringing back its indoor color guard this season. With the new staff of Timi McKendrie, Erin August and caption head Loujaue McPherson. The guard will be performing Seal’s “Don’t Cry” as their indoor production. The group will be competing in TOB Chapter 8.

The indoor schedule is set and approved by TOB Chapter 8 for the guard and the Impact Ensemble. The outdoor schedule will be posted as soon as it is available.
