Cardinals’ Jim Tallo to receive special lifetime achievement award

Jim Tallo will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Danvers, MA, Kiwanis at the Danversport Yacht Club, Danvers, MA, on Thursday, November 18, 2004.

He has been involved with drum and bugle corps, winter color guard and youth organizations for over 50 years. He has also appeared as Santa Claus during the holiday seasons for many years. Through Jim’s diligent and dedicated efforts, he has awarded over a million dollars in scholarships to our youth. This is an absolutely an amazing accomplishment. He not only deserves this award, he has earned it without looking for any recognition for his efforts.

His heart is truly dedicated to seeing our youth become outstanding citizens of our community. He goes about his business in a very quiet way and produces maximum results. When he balances the books, there is never a mistake; it is always exactly right to the penny.

He is a very kind gentleman who is fun to be around and has a great sense of humor. There are many people who love Jim dearly. He is just a great human being and treats everyone with dignity and respect.

Tickets are $35.00, with a cocktail hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, dinner from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, and the award ceremony at 8:00 PM. There is a choice of beef or chicken. Tickets can be purchased for the event by dialing 1-978-774-2474 up through 5:00 PM, Wednesday, November 17.

If you can not be there to see Jim receive his award, it may be nice to send him an e-mail to congratulate him. His e-mail address is: jayjaytee29@aol.com. From the Cardinal Drum and Bugle Corps Alumni Committee, we are sure Jim would love to hear from those who know him or would like to say thank you.
