The Colts held their free annual spring debut concert April 27 at Senior High School’s Nora Gym. This year marks the corps’ 40th anniversary. More than 300 people auditioned for the 135 available spots in the corps. One member from Japan was in attendance for the concert.
The Colt Cadets and Dubuque Youth Chorales also appeared at the concert, and the Dubuque Senior High drill team concluded its season with a special performance.
The Colt Cadets have more than 50 members this year, up from 34 in 2002 and 18 in 2001.
The Colts show for 2003 is titled “Symphonic Visions: Ritual, Song and Dance.” It features three new compositions for contemporary concert band professionally adapted for the Colts’ show.
