Drum Corps World has published two volumes called "A History of Drum & Bugle Corps." Volume 1 has been sold out since December 2004 and Volume 2 has been for sale since since June 2003. Each book as a black, leather-like vinyl hard cover and contains 432 pages with approximately 1,400 photographs and illustrations. Approximately 150 individuals contributed written material and another 150 individuals contributed photographs and artwork for the two books. Below is a listing of the specific content of each book.

Volume 1 Contents

	Chapter 1 -- "The Big Parade -- the veterans organizations and the drum and bugle corps movement" by Raphael Osheroff and Bob Zinko (a look at the sociological reasons behind the veterans organizations organizing drum and bugle corps)
	Chapter 2 -- "The evolution of the bugle" by Scooter Pirtle (this chapter is like a doctoral thesis on the history of bugles, including a chart of companies that have manufactured bugles between 1800 and the present)
	Chapter 3 -- "Development of marching percussion during the 20th century" by Lauren Vogel Weiss (a brief overview of some of the developments in marching percussion during the last 100 years)
	Chapter 4 -- "How musical and visual design has evolved" by Dr. Rosalie Sward (looks at how drum and bugle corps designers developed their craft over the last three decades)
	Chapter 5 -- "Drum and bugle corps recordings through the years" by Ken Mason (includes a master listing of recordings by Fleetwood and recording engineers Dale Johnson, Stetson D. Richmond, Alf Wateska, Ken Kobold and Ken Mason)
	Chapter 6 -- "80 years of drum and bugle corps scores" compiled by Brian Tolzmann (preliminary and final scores from all the major competitions -- junior and senior -- between 1921 and 2001)
	Chapter 7 -- "The movement starts to grow in the 1950s" by Carman Cluna (an overview of some of the trends during this important decade and what the activity was like during that period of time)
	Chapter 8 -- "The 1960s: the Dream, then Miami; the World, then Miami" by Cozy Baker (a sometimes humorous look at this important decade when the activity was in its heyday)
	Chapter 9 -- "Masters of their destiny -- DCI is established" by Bill Howard (what led to the founding of Drum Corps International during the late 1960s and early 1970s)
	Chapter 10 -- "The giant killer -- the 1980s" by Dr. Robert Smith (a decade of big changes for the drum and bugle corps activity, especially the junior corps)
	Chapter 11 -- "For the love of the game -- the alumni corps movement" by Allison Close and Chris Atkinson (how adults started coming back to the activity and performing the growing alumni corps movement)
	Chapter 12 -- "The drum corps activity takes to the airwaves" by Chris Atkinson (drum and bugle corps on television, videotape and DVD)
	Chapter 13 -- "Drum and bugle corps in Quebec" by Daniel Buteau (a look at some of the trends that came out of the French-speaking Canadian province)
	Chapter 14 -- "Drum and bugle corps in Ontario" by Jodeen Popp (what the activity in the most populous drum corps province in Canada was contibuting to the fraternity)
	Chapter 15 -- "Canadian military drum and bugle corps" by Richard F. Allen (how the musical military units in Canada helped get the activity started and then became its most prominent corps)
	Chapter 16 -- "Bibliography" by Sharon Walbridge (articles that have appeared in non-drum corps publications in the last 30 years)
