Ethel M. Devitt Memorial Scholarship Grant
The Ethel M. Devitt Memorial sponsorship Grant is an annual award given by the Chicago Royal
Airs Senior Drum & Bugle Corps to a Horn Player of a competitive junior corps in the Midwest.
The fund was established in 2004 by the Devitt-Karuza family in loving memory of the "world's most ardent drum corp fan.”
The minimum annual award is $650.
Deadline for applications is November 15, 2005. Scholarship recipients will be notified by letter on or before December 15.
Grants will be awarded to an applicant who meets certain criteria. To be considered, an applicant must
- Be a horn player with a Midwestern competitive junior corps
- Demonstrate respect and enthusiasm for drum corps activity
- Have maintained at least a C average in the previous academic year
- Demonstrate financial need
- Submit a brief essay (No more than 250 words) describing why he/she should be considered for this scholarship.
