Funded through proceeds from the "Lake Erie Fanfare" DCI show, this scholarship has been presented to as many as eight young people in one year and goes toward membership dues. Started in 1987, the Lake Erie Fanfare Scholarship Committee has awarded nearly $12,000 to corps member from the Lake Erie region.

Applicants are judged primarily on two criteria:

A letter of recommendation from their corps director.

1. An essay describing how drum corps has influenced their life and, more importantly, how they are going to use the drum corps experience to benefit others in the future.
