This collection of historic compact discs features nearly 1,400 performances between 1950 and 1980. They have been restored from the personal archives of Stetson D. Richmond and Alf Wateska, two amateur recording engineers who turned their hobby originally into reel-to-reel, then cassette and even record albums for sale to fans over three decades.

Record players were much more common than reel-to-reel decks when this all started, so public distribution had to begin with 78 RPM records. A full show required four sides of 10″ custom records at that speed. Thankfully, the 33 RPM format came along later in the 1950s, enabling the same 15-minute program to fit on a single side of a 10” record. Stet did have a handful of 12” LPs mass-produced in 1970-1971, but the rest were custom 10” discs, made one at a time on a record lathe in his basement.
These CDs are from the restored reel-to-reel tapes of these two gentlemen who personally recorded more than 5,500 performances between 1950 and 1980. We have released approximately 20% of the collection representing most major junior and senior corps, as well as some not-so-well-known groups up and down the Eastern United States. The CDs are made up one at a time, so please allow up to six weeks for delivery.
