Royal Airs plan huge Illinois corps reunion at show

Calling all alumni of Illinois drum and bugle corps. You are invited to attend one of the largest drum corps tailgate parties to be held in the Midwest this summer. This event will be at Maine West High School, Wolf Road & Oakton, Des Plaines, IL, on June 26 at 2:00 PM.

The “Glory Daze” Reunion Party will be held in conjuction with the DCI-sponsored “Big Blue’s Brass Review” junior corps contest at Main West High School stadium that evening. Guests will check-in with their respective corps and be entitled to the following:

· Admission to both the pre-show and post-show parties
· Admission to the “Big Blue’s Brass Review” contest
· Preferred block seating at the show
· Access to the Chicago Royal Airs Exhibition Corps rehearsal
· A barbecue dinner prepared by Chicagoland’s top catering company
· Exciting door prizes, including classic cd’s from the 1960s

Those alumni organizations that are participating or have been invited include: Belleville Black Knights, Cavaliers, Knights of Geneseo, Giles Yellow Jackets, Guardsmen, Nisei Ambassadors, McHenry Viscounts, Morton Groves Cougars, Norwood Park Imperials, Millstadt Crusaders, Ottawa Crusaders, Scarlet Knights, St. Andrew’s Hornets, St Michael’s Chi-Angels and the
Des Plaines Vanguard.

There will be tents, dining tables, chairs, unlimited food and beverages, admission to prime seating at the show and the opportunity to party with all your drum corps friends after the contest.

It is supported by advertising from manufacturers, service providers, corps, circuits and show sponsors. The publication began in October 1971 at the same time Drum Corps International was formed and has been produced continuously as a tabloid newspaper until April 2011 and on the Internet since May 2011.
